Greenback School's One Book Blitz for grades Pre-K to 5 will kick off in just two days! Stay tuned as we will announce this year's book title on September 5.


Greenback students in grades PreK - 5 will participate in another One Book Blitz starting September 5! We will kick-off the event on 9/5/24 by revealing this year's book selection. All materials for the Book Blitz will be sent home at the end of the day on Thursday. This year's event is sure to be SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS!


What a treat to hear our mighty band play our Alma Mater to start the day! They are awesome!


The Loudon County Board of Education recently adopted a policy addressing the conduct of visitors on school grounds. Please review the attached document. For questions concerning the new policy, refer to the school system's online school board policy manual located at www.loudoncounty.org, or contact the Loudon County School Board office at (865) 458-5411.



Basketball try-outs for boys in grades 3-5 will take place this Wednesday, August 14 in the school gym. See the attached flyer for more information!


Greenback School is offering free admission to sporting events for those who are age 65+. Show your ID at any athletic event to receive a pass!

The new house built by Greenback School students in the CTE Construction class sold at auction this morning for $140,000! Thanks to all those who bid on the house. Proceeds from the sale will be used to start another house! GBS thanks Josh Moore with EK Auctioneers for conducting the auction.

Greenback School was awarded a grant from the Good Neighbors Shoppe in the amount of $24,965! The school wants to thank the GNS for their ongoing support of the school and students!

Greenback School will host student registration on Friday, August 2, from 8 AM to 3 PM. Registration day is for ALL students, including returning students, new enrollees, and incoming kindergarten students. High school students will be able to pay applicable student fees on this day.

Incoming Kindergarten Students
Students starting Kindergarten will find out their individual “stagger days” when they come in on Registration Day. Stagger days for kindergarten students are as follows:
Monday, August 5: 1/3 of the students
Tuesday, August 6: 1/3 of the students
Wednesday, August 7: 1/3 of students
Thursday, August 8: ½ of the class will attend
Friday, August 9: ½ of the class will attend
Monday, August 12: All kindergarten students will attend
Pre-K Staggered Start
Mrs. Preston, Greenback School Pre-K teacher, will schedule stagger days for the incoming Pre-K students during the One-on-one student/parent visits on August 5, 6, & 7. Stagger days for Pre-K students are as follows:
August 8, 9, 12, & 13: 5 students each day
August 14 and 15: 10 students per day
August 16: All Pre-K students attend

2024 Student Parking Pass Information

On Tuesday, July 23rd we will begin selling parking passes to our students starting with our first group of seniors at 8:00 am. The first group of seniors received priority based on the criteria outlined in our student handbook. Senior priority to choose a spot is based on GPA, attendance, and disciplinary offenses. All other seniors who are not in the first group may begin selecting and purchasing their parking passes any time after 9:30 am on Tuesday, July 23rd .
All juniors may start purchasing their parking passes on Tuesday, July 23rd from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Eligible sophomores may start purchasing passes on Wednesday, July 24th starting at 8:00 am.
Important things to remember
All students who have taken the ACT and scored 21 or above or have taken the ASVAB and scored 35 or above will receive a free parking pass. Still come at your scheduled time.
If you are unable to come at your scheduled time, you may also purchase a pass on August 2, registration day.
Remember to bring your driver’s license and tag number.

Greenback School is offering a VOCAL music class in the spring semester, 2025! Students will learn the fundamentals of reading music notation and will perform using a variety of accompaniments (piano, strings, guitar, and digital/recorded accompaniment).
This class will provide opportunities for whole group, as well as solos, duets, trios, and other smaller ensembles. Students will learn to perform the school's alma mater, the National Anthem, and selections from various genres of popular music, patriotic songs, and seasonal selections. Participants in this class will perform several times throughout the semester, including a spring concert at the end of the spring semester.
