The LES cross country team had their first meet today at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville. There were over 400 girls and over 400 boys competing. We are so proud of our runners and their performance today! We look forward to seeing their progress this season.

First grade has been so busy this week! We learned all about the characteristics of fables and personification, used ourselves in word chains to increase phonemic awareness, and found some time have fun with our friends!

Families -- Due to recent legislation, we have revised two of our forms that we would like to share with you. First is the health screenings letter. If you do not want your child to participate, you must reach out to Kate Galyon galyonk@loudoncounty.org or your school nurse by Aug 31st. The second form is the back side of the health card. If you have already completed this form, you do not need to do anything. If you need an updated form, please reach out to your school nurse. *Students who arrive by 7:30 have 15 minutes to visit quietly with friends and classmates before transitioning to breakfast or class.
