We wrapped up our last day of summer school with the coolest guests in town, our local fire department! They turned the afternoon into a full‑on water party, complete with laughter and a whole lot of happy, soaked students. Nothing like ending the season with a splash.

Paws, positivity, and plenty of smiles at summer school today! Our local K‑9 officers stopped by to demonstrate their incredible training and spend time with students. The dogs may have stolen the show, but the lessons on safety and community stuck with everyone.

🚀 Welcome to Eaton Elementary, Nic Bevins! 🚀 We are thrilled to welcome Nic Bevins as one of our new PE teachers at Eaton Elementary School! 🏃♂️Mr. Bevins is a proud Loudon County native who actually walked the halls of Eaton Elementary as a student, what a full-circle moment! After high school, he continued his baseball career at Chattanooga State Community College and went on to earn his degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Now, Nic returns home to Loudon with his wife, their two dogs, and an exciting new addition on the way! 🍼🌾 He brings with him a passion for fitness, teamwork, and community, and we are so excited for our students to learn and grow under his leadership. In his own words, he says it best: “I could not be more honored and excited to teach at the school I once attended. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket!” We know this is going to be an amazing year!
Welcome back home, Coach Bevins! 💙💛

Last week Summer School STEAM was glowing today, literally! 💡🧬
After reading “So Much Slime” and breaking down the sequence of events, students mixed up their own glow‑in‑the‑dark slime.
Literacy, science, and a whole lot of ooze made for an unforgettable lesson.

Miss Dutrumble’s class wrapped up the last week of summer school with a wonderful readers theatre performance today! 📚🎭 These students brought the story to life with confidence, teamwork, and so much personality. So proud of all their hard work this summer!

Mrs. Baessler makes recess A LOT more FUN❣️We seriously have the C😎😎LEST principal, turning every day into a reason to smile!

Summer school isn’t just about learning, it’s about building partnerships that spark trust, confidence, and community. Watching these students lift each other up is the best part of the season. 🩵🩷Here’s to teamwork, curiosity, and growing together. 🚀

✏️ Our summer learners are building big skills with small words. Today’s CVC word practice turned into a hands‑on literacy adventure with magnetic letters, picture cards, and lots of confident readers in the making. Proud of this crew and their growing independence.

🌋📚 Learning, Growing, and Staying Calm! 💬 Today we read "My Mouth Is a Volcano!" and learned about the importance of taking turns when talking and being good listeners. We talked about ways to keep our “volcanoes” from erupting—like raising our hands, waiting patiently, and thinking before we speak. 🖐️👂 Then we dove into science by learning about real volcanoes and how they work! To wrap up our learning, we got creative and built our very own volcanoes. 🌋🎨It was a fun and meaningful day full of literacy, self-control strategies, and hands-on learning! 💛

During STEAM last week students read "Recess Queen" and wrote about being good friends on the playground. Next, students designed and built paper their own playgrounds.

🍉🚀⭐️ Our “One in a Melon” students had a blast in Mrs. Kolwyck’s Math class today creating their very own watermelon shapes! ❤️🍉💚 As they worked, we talked all about shape names and attributes like sides and vertices! 📐✨ These sweet Rockets are shining bright this summer while learning, laughing, and making memories along the way! So proud of this one in a melon crew! 🚀
